So the Supernova Hackathon event is underway and has had some exciting events happening like giving over $6 Million in prizes to the developers from May 10th to June 20, 2022 that have been chosen as the best projects to build on the Internet Computer and will recieve funding. The Grand Champion will recieve $75k + $100k Grant with a bonus of up to 6 free tickets to the Internet Computer Developer conference. Now there are several different catagories of developers that have applied to build on the Internet Computer and several different prize pools all equally $6 million so here are a list of them
Social Fi a decentralized Social Media app that incorporates tokenization. One of my new favorite Social fi dapps already built on the IC is called Open Chat.

2nd $30k + $25k Grant
3rd $20k + $25k Grant
4th $15k + $5k Grant
5th $10k + $5k Grant
Game Fi A Decentralized Game that incorporates Tokenization and incentives like tokens for prizes. The Next Generation in Gaming is Game Fi. Where the items you buy in the game you own and can be resold as nft’s instead of the game owning the items and basically renting them to you. My favorite category for sure!

Metaverse and Nft’s this must have a system or code that supports building decentralized metaverses this has many purposes but as an example, you could submit a system that sells online real estate as nft’s or enables multiple players to interact in a virtual space

Asynchronous Defi A new way of getting rid of bad actors through reentrancy attacks (which are a form of hacking) through the canister smart contract procedure they use you can read more about this on the official Dfinity Supernova article.

Public Good Social Impact This is the giving back portion of the hackathon I personally resonate with as if you don’t use your platform for good what are you doing. So this gives developers a chance to build something that will help a real world scenario or multiple scenarios and give back through coding and developing! This is My new Favorite!

So those were all of the categories for Developing on the Internet Computer for the Supernova Hackathon that is coming to an end here in the next 2 weeks.
